Cheryl Hines, a former Democrat, has come under scrutiny for her defense of her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been spreading misinformation about vaccines and autism. Despite his lack of medical background, Kennedy has been using his platform as the secretary of Health and Human Services to erode trust in vaccines and promote unproven claims. In a recent appearance on The View, Hines pushed back against the suggestion that her husband is unfit to serve as the nation’s top health official, arguing that he has spent his career studying toxins and people’s health.

Despite her husband's controversial statements, Hines seems pleased with her appearance on The View, with her rep describing it as a great, balanced conversation. This comes as her new memoir, Unscripted, is set to be released next month, discussing the highs and lows of fame, family, and an unexpected foray into politics. However, some may question her judgment in promoting her book while defending her husband's controversial views.
